Privacy overview

Carvo is built with a privacy-first approach for global drivers. We process only the minimum data necessary to provide multilingual voice translation and vehicle command services.

Voice & audio data

• Voice commands. Spoken commands may be processed locally on your phone or, when subscribed, sent to cloud providers to generate translated vehicle instructions.
• No permanent recording by default. Voice audio is not permanently stored on our servers unless you explicitly opt in under Account in the app.
• Local processing. Wake word detection and offline ASR run on-device to improve speed and privacy.
• Usage metadata. Carvo may collect non-content metrics (language, duration, match result) to operate quotas and reliability. Speech text is not stored unless you opt in.

Account information

Your email address, selected languages, subscription status, and vehicle brand preferences may be stored to personalize your experience and enforce cloud usage limits.

Third-party AI services

Depending on your region and settings, cloud requests may be processed through providers such as ByteDance Volcengine (ASR/MT), Ark/Doubao LLM, Deepgram, or other services configured on our backend. You do not receive direct API keys; access is gated through Carvo servers.

Payments

Subscription payments are processed by PayPal. We store order references and amounts linked to your Carvo user ID; we do not store your full PayPal credentials.

Security

Data transmission uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) to help protect your requests and account information.

Your control

• Offline mode. Core wake and offline recognition work without cloud processing.
• Opt-in transcript storage. You may enable optional speech text storage in the app Account page when offered.
• Account deletion. Contact support to request account removal.
